Profile

Hailing from the district of YSR Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, Shree Charani is a left-arm orthodox spinner. Having played a lot of sports in her early years, she loved cricket the most and received a lot of support from her maternal uncle.

After failing to make it to India’s Under-19 World Cup squad, she impressed at the Under-23 level following which she was picked at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction. After a bidding tussle between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, Shree Charani was bought by the latter for INR 55 lakh.

She made her WPL debut against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and picked a couple of crucial wickets. Charani’s second appearance for DC came in the final of the 2025 WPL where she accounted for two wickets but was on the expensive side and her team ended as runners-up. In the same year (2025), at the age of 20, Shree Charani made her international debut in the limited-overs formats. She picked a 4-fer on T20I debut against England in Nottingham.

Possessing a good repeatable action, the left-arm spinner is known for her control and quick through the air bowling. Thanks to her athleticism, Charani is a sharp fielder as well. Due to the experience and strength in India’s spin department, it hasn’t been easy for Charani to feature in India's playing XI frequently.
